The Cyfarthfa Foundation has been established to deliver an ambitious plan to transform Cyfarthfa Castle and its 100 hectares of surrounding parkland into a thriving cultural and visitor attraction of national standing in Merthyr Tydfil. With the support of Merthyr Tydfil Council the Foundation are determined to realise a compelling vision which will encompass history, heritage, the natural environment and creativity in order to drive social and economic renewal in the area.

Reporting into the Board and working alongside a small staff the Chief Executive will drive the project forwards, building on existing momentum. The post-holder will continue to develop relationships and partnerships across public and private sector sponsors to while defining the Foundations business plan and carrying the project into its next phase.

The successful candidate will have excellent experience managing large and complex projects within the heritage or tourism sectors. They will have an exceptional track record of fundraising to allow the Foundation to meet its ambitions. Alongside this they will possess a strong network and the ability to develop key relationships with sponsors, local authorities and Welsh government.
